The 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Ujala (DOWA) on 15th August 2026. The occasion was marked by the active participation of members, volunteers, teachers, and girls, who came together to celebrate the spirit of patriotism and national pride. The programme included energetic dance performances, a group song, and inspiring speeches by the students. The patriotic spirit was further enhanced by the singing of “Vande Mataram” and the National Anthem, “Jana Gana Mana.” The occasion brought everyone together in a spirit of unity, pride, and love for the nation, making the celebration memorable and meaningful.

Founders’ Day Celebration at Ujala DOWA
Founders’ Day was celebrated at Ujala DOWA on 19th August 2026 in loving memory of its founder, Mrs. Sucharita Vadhera. The occasion honoured her vision, dedication, and selfless efforts towards empowering and supporting girls. Bhajans were sung as a heartfelt tribute to her memory, creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. Entertainment Program at Ujala
An entertainment programme was organised at Ujala on 31st July 2026 to celebrate the spirit of Saavan, with green as the dress code, adding a vibrant festive touch. The event featured an engaging Saavan-themed quiz and a group activity that encouraged active participation, collaboration, and teamwork among all the participants. A lively game of Tambola brought excitement and enthusiasm, and the programme concluded with refreshments, making the celebration enjoyable and memorable for everyone.
Convocation Ceremony at Ujala DOWA
The Convocation Ceremony at Ujala DOWA was held on Thursday, 23 July 2026.
It was a celebration of hope, perseverance, and new beginnings. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, AVRWA Chairman - Col. Prashant Gupta, whose inspiring words encouraged the learners to continue their journey of education, confidence, and self-reliance. Certificates were awarded to learners who successfully completed Literacy, Digital Literacy (Computer Education), and vocational courses in Tailoring and Beauty, recognizing their commitment to learning and personal growth. The event reflected Ujala DOWA's vision of empowering women through education, digital inclusion, skill development, and confidence, inspiring every participant to build a brighter and more self-reliant future.
Tree Plantation at Ujala
On 23rd July 2026, Ujala organised a Tree Plantation Drive to spread awareness about environmental conservation and the importance of protecting nature. Saplings were planted with great enthusiasm, symbolising a shared commitment to creating a greener and healthier future. The initiative inspired everyone to care for the environment and contribute towards a more sustainable world.
